Doris Day’s Cypress Inn Celebrates Puppy Love

Animal advocate Doris Day’s legendary Cypress Inn is celebrating puppy love throughout the month of February. At the iconic 1929 landmark, Director of Pet Relations Sadie welcomes pets with the Puppy Love package starting at $199 per night, double occupancy.

One of California’s first hotel properties to welcome pets in the mid-1980s, Cypress Inn has since welcomed everyone from parrots to pot bellied pigs.  Standard operating procedure includes concierges carrying grain-free all-natural dog treats and all of the Inn’s 44 crisp, contemporary guestrooms appointed with dog bowls, plush dog beds and in-room fireplaces.  Top treats for February include Tricks for an upgrade upon arrival (based on availability) and complimentary Cypress Inn logo collar tag for Fido to tout his travels.

Love is in the air with a visit to Ajne Organic Perfumes for a choice of hand blended Furfumes crafted from natural, plant extracts.  For pups in need of a time-out, Tro daBone focuses on calming overactive pets and includes a natural flea and tick repellant.  Kennel No. 5, a favorite among smaller breeds, is crafted for nurturing, while Breed perks things up with a frisky aphrodisiac scent. CULINARY CANINE MENU

Things start to shake up in the afternoon, as Terry’s Lounge rolls out Yappy Hour daily from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  A vintage slice of Hollywood by the sea, Cypress Inn salutes all things retro with a classic cocktail menu and complimentary Muttini for four-legged drinkers.  A new Culinary Canine Menu debuts February 1st including such delicacies as Steak Tartar, Chow Hound Chicken and Fish & Chips.  One complimentary entrée rounds out the Puppy Love package.

New Yorker Hotel Offers Westminster Dog Spa Package

80836452The pet-friendly New Yorker Hotel will once again welcome dogs and owners as guests during the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show next month with added amenities for show participants and supporters. Two dog spa packages will be available to guests for a small cost added to the price of a hotel stay.

The Classic Dog Spa Package, priced at $50 per dog, includes use of Jog A DogTM treadmills (exclusive to the New Yorker Hotel), grooming stations, blow dryers and indoor potty areas. Guests who book this package will also receive a special edition dog show publication, free of charge, along with complimentary dog treats.

Guests can choose to upgrade their package to the Premium Dog Spa Package, priced at $75 per dog, which includes all of the amenities in the Classic Dog Spa Package, in addition to access to bathing areas for the canines.

Dates: Dog spa facilities will be fully operational from Thursday, Feb. 7 – Monday, Feb. 11 from 6 am to 10 pm. On Tuesday, Feb. 12, the dog spa will be fully staffed from 6 am to 10 am. After 10 am, the spa will remain open but staff assistance will not be available. The potty area will be open on a 24-hour basis from Thursday, Feb. 7 until Wednesday, Feb. 13 at 12 pm. Accommodations at the New Yorker Hotel are still available during the Westminster Dog Show with rates starting at $219 per night. These special packages must be booked by phone or at the front desk upon check-in.

The dog spa packages are not included in the room rate and are quoted per dog, per room, per stay. Package tickets are available for $25 for each additional dog over the Premium Dog Spa Package. All package tickets are redeemed at the front desk upon check-in. Grooming and bathing services require a reservation with spa staff on premises.
