We’re so excited to announce our next book: DogTipper’s Texas with Dogs guidebook, published by Open Road Publishing and distributed by Simon & Schuster. This full-color book will feature dog-friendly destinations across Texas including hotels, parks, beaches, lakes, shops, festivals, and more and will be sold at bookstores nationwide.
Throughout the book, color photos will highlight great dog destinations — and that’s where we’d like your help! We’d like to feature reader photos of dogs enjoying the Lone Star State. Our publisher will be judging the photos with the best appearing in DogTipper’s Texas with Dogs and all photos appearing in an online photo gallery. Five winners will receive a complimentary copy of the book, and the grand prize winner will receive a package of dog travel goodies valued at $250!
How to Enter
Below you’ll find the entry form for submitting your photos, one per form. You may enter multiple photos but you need to be the photographer of each photo. All photos must be taken in Texas but the contest is open to readers everywhere. Submission of photos means abiding by the official rules at the bottom of this page. (If you have any problems with the submission form, please email photos with the information found in the entry form to editors@dogtipper.com.)

DogTipper’s Texas with Dogs! Photo Contest Official Rules
- Complete the online submission form.
- The contest is open to readers everywhere.
- Photos must have been taken in Texas.
- Digital photos preferably should be at least 1875 pixels by 2850 pixels in size.
- Do not include a border, watermark, date, copyright notice or other text on your image.
- Photo must feature at least one dog traveling in Texas.
- One photo per entry form but entrants may submit multiple entry forms.
- The entrant must be the person who took the photo. You must have all rights to the photo.
- The entrant must have full consent of all persons appearing in the photo. Submission of the photo signifies that the entrant has consent of all persons in the photo.
- All photos entered in the contest become the property of the site for use in the book and/or on the website in a photo gallery of submissions as well as for promotion of the title.
- A panel of judges will select the winning photos based on photographic composition, lighting, composition, and theme.
- Decisions of the judges are final.
Disclaimer: By participating, entrants agree that: (i) they have read the rules pertaining to the DogTipper’s Texas with Dogs! Contest is open to U.S. or Canadian residents 18 years or older. Employees (and their immediate family members) of LT Media Group LLC and Open Road Publishing are not eligible to enter.
By submitting an entry I agree that I have read the Contest Rules, assent thereto, and submit the enclosed photo in accordance therewith; I attest that I own all rights to the photo and it has not been published or accepted for publication in any medium; and if the photo portrays any living person or persons, I have secured a model release or releases. I further agree that should my entry be chosen as the winning entry I will execute all necessary paperwork/releases as requested by LT Media Group LLC.
